I'm wastin time right now

Yo, I hate myself right now, I'm supposed to be finishing a take-home exam right now and I'm fuckin killing time. But I figure I'd do something that got my creative juices flowing so it could help me with the exam.
 IN ANY CASE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I found this track some time near the beginning of the month and liked it, when I downloaded the track I got tired of it in a matter of days. This can only mean my real attraction was to the video, This is Michou: Growing Younger

The next one is so fuckin tough to explain, it sounds like a track from the 60s or 70s from a guy who in the 90s was part of this alternative rap group, that got signed to a label from the 80s released one album that no one has heard of at the beginning of the 2000s and some how has the most saught after song of the moment which ironically enough he decided not to put on the album that he released. Some one heard it and decided to make it the theme song for the new HBO seriesfeaturing a rapper who is makin it big in the late 2000s, the show is called;  How To Make it In America.
P.S. This dude might have the craziest name I've ever heard, I'm pretty sure it's not reeal, but if it is, that t jokes. Here's ALOE BLACC-I NEED A DOLLAR

and with a tip of my hat, I fade into the back..............

Opps

Thought today was Tuesday no helping it sucks when u work nights all your days get confused. On with the regular post.

This first video is by Adionia - Buss Gun Charge its on the new genesis riddim this one here was a special request. I'm really starting to like this riddim thought it was too slow at first but its ill still. Other tracks to check on the riddim inculde Mavado - Still Stand Up, Assassin - The Father, Bugle - Don't Judge Me & Charley Black - Dem Only Can Talk, there are other tracks but these ones I really like.

The next rack is more on the conscious side of things from Tarrus Riley latest CD release. 99% of the tracks on this CD is excelllent its not one of those filler CD's that seem to be dropping in main stream R&B lately just to keep an artists name at the forefront. So if you looking for some reflective listening look no further

Mini Post - ORB

Until about 2 months ago I refused to listen to anything by Lady Gaga except Poker Face (guess i was hating but I can admit it now), must say I was suprised by how many tracks I liked on her CD. Here is one of my current favorites. Starstruck ft. Space Cowboy and Flo Rida on a side note I love features they intorduce u to new artists in this case Space Cowboy for me check out I Came 2 Party ft. Cinema Bizarre.

TUNE

Dirty Money ft. T.I.-Hello Good Morning
This right here is gonna be big

New MGMT

MGMT-Flash Delirium

Jamie Foxx ft. Justin Timberlake & T.I. - Winner

Now that T.I. is out of jail, some his new songs are out! By the way, can somebody fix it so we can post directly from the blog? Shit is confusing.

For Your Consideration

Yo I found this track a week ago and heard it and was losin my mind but there are so many tracks that are pumpin right now so I wanted to wait. But honestly, fuck it. Ludacris: Sexting makes fun of tiger Woods on this one (one of the reasons I didn't want post it right away, but YO, THIS SONG IS SO FUCKING LIVE. IT JUST FUCKIN PWNGE

My next track is from that Mcdonald's commercial. I couldn't get that beat out of my head from the first time I heard it, finally decided to look for it and voila. This track is Bag Raiders: Shooting Star  Aussie house/electronic duo, pretty sick.

oh and P.S.
The more I listen to Drake: OVER, the more I like it. I still find majority of the lyrical content simple and by default mediocre as if to say hey, this is just my life. A notion that can be reaffirmed when you look at the album art for this song, life has levels and stages that shouldn't really be over thought and the it' just well, over. The vibe and context of the song just grows on you like the type of music that would be classified as personal theme music. You know the kind you have playing on your mp3 player as you're walkin down the street by yourself that makes you want walk with a little more swag in each step because it personifies the image you want people to see of you because it assures them of the type of confidence and the lifestyle that you wish you had and want to represent. Whoa! Kind just went off on that one didn't I?

Just some food for thought.

And with a tip of my hat, I fade into the back...

Won't write "washed out" in this post

Tomorrow is very exciting for me, I'm gonna see The Ruby Suns. I was doubly excited when I found out that Toro Y Moi was going to open, I saw him open for Islands who he kinda showed up. Unfortunately he lost his passport so he won't show up after all. Here they are in all their youtubeness.

From the Rugged Lands of Shaolin! (New WuTang)

Meth, Ghost & Rae-Our Dreams

Micachu!

Hey everybody, this is from my favourite album of 2009 (What's more hipsterish? Me saying Merriweather Post Pavilion, or going against what everyone else is saying and choosing something even more obscure?) Anyway here she is. unfortunately her totally brilliant mix tape kwesachu vol. 1 is missing from the internet but I'm
sure if you search around other channels you can find it. Totally worth the search, it has Hot Chip
on it! If you want to know someone who influenced her style, here's a Harry Partch documentary
from the BBC. Harry Partch is one of those Moondog ( who I will do a post about another time)
type composers who are crazy awesome and invent instruments and junk.
Anyways keep an ear out for Micachu, in 3 years Rihanna will probably be having her produce or something.

Seal's cover of Sam Cooke's " A Change Is Gonna Come"

AAAH

If you are like me, and I assume that you all are, you have just been watching The Exorcist on youtube and slightly pooped your pants. I've gotten just to the point where the little screams "FUCK ME, FUCK ME" in that evil man voice. So much for earth hour, I'm sleeping with the lights on, if I ever sleep ever again. Anywho, here's a favourite band of mine. I saw them live when they did this D'Angelo cover with Via Audio and let me tell you something, it's better live. But still, streaming's pretty tight too. Their original stuff is also good but in more of a hyper-arch-jazz-rock-cabaret.
Is it just me, or are there not enough Bears in indie rock? I don't think there are enough bears in every walk of life.

Beats by Applegirl Beats

I'm as sick of Poker Face and covers of it as anyone at this point, BUT what this Japanese girl does with 4 iPhones is actual really sick, so I'm glad I clicked on this video. She also has a cool looking cat.

Loop Pedals are rad

This is Tune-Yards. I saw her open for Dirty Projectors and I have to say that it was one of the best
opening acts I've ever seen.

For Your Consideration

Alright this is from Down With Webster-Your Man. I swear the more I hear these guys, the more I like them and their motto of achieving 'win'. When I first saw these guys I thought to myself, oh no, more rap rock. But then you realize, canadian rap, hiphop and rock are very alternative so this won't said like a rip off of all those other bands like limp bizkit or linkin park.
I only recently found out about the bidding war between Gene Simmons and Timbaland to sign these guys.
I just saw the music video for this track this morning and I gotta say, pretty funny stuff.

and with a tip of my hat, I fade into the back

Long first post with John Cale and Dominique Young Unique

Hello everyone, I'm new here but I'm excited to tell other people what I like, so here we go. I don't want to overload anyone's face so I'll start with two songs that I'm into right this second.
This is from one of my favourite albums, Music For A New Society (never mind the photos) and this is one of my new favourite songs (specifically the keyboards at 2:17).

MAGIC SYSTEM

Banlieue Bop

PIXAÇÃO

This is PIXAÇÃO a style of graffiti that is unique to São Paulo, Brazil. Many writers of PIXAÇÃO brave free climbing all the way up tall buildings to get their letters at the top. Watch this preview for a documentary on the movement. I also threw in a video of some oldschool Carioca Funk, its not really related, it just a big tune.

Gala & D.N.A. riddims

My Post is a day early but i've got a full day tomorrow.

The first song is WARM UP by Sheba and its ft. Vybz Kartel and its off the Gala riddim. If you like the riddim other songs I recommend are Elephant Man - Another Round, Natel - Pan Mi & ****Vybz Kartel - Oh Dey Gyal. There are more songs on the riddim but these are the baddest.

The second song is JACKET by Assassin aka Agent Sasco other songs on the riddim are: Vybz Kartel - Thank Yuh Jah, Vybz Kartel - No Wild Grain, Bugle - Don't Need Yuh Friendship. If you wondering what a JACKET is, its basically a child that is raised by another father but to qualify the father has to think that its his child he is raising

Nicki The Harajuku Barbie...the Fader article

Nicki Minaj recently graced the cover of Fader, which is a magazine kind of like Rolling Stone accept way newer, without the mainstream credibility, and with more of an ear to the streets and the hipster hoods. Here's the article

Music From A Bonsai

Sometimes people re-invent how to play an instrument or make new instruments. This individual drew his inspiration from nature itself and made a Bonsai plant into a musical instrument.

The next one is not a video, far as I no there is no video but such a sick song its from biggie's duets CD and its featuring Bob Marley sorry if someone had posted it but its such a good song twice may not be enough.

Relatives Abroad Mixtape

So because "Distant Relatives" is dropping soon, FreshNerd of 100 Akres Productions put out this mashup mixtape of Nas acappellas combined with samples from the "Uprising" album by Damian's father.

Here's the download link

"Uprising" is a great choice for a Marley & The Wailers album to mash with. It was the last album released while the great roots reggae legend was still breathing and it boasts some classic cuts like "Could You Be Loved" and "Redemption Song". "Uprising" also has one of the most gangster album covers of all time. "Throwin Down" by Rick James is a close second.

Party Animal - Akon and David Guetta

Another club jam from Akon and David Guetta, a little like Sexy Bitch from last summer.

Philharmonic Pedigree

I was in New York the other day and got a chance to go see the New York Philharmonic at Carnegie Hall. It was incredible to say the least. Anyway here are a few tid bits of what I heard there. They are worth taking the time to listen to in my opinion but just be prepared for at least 15 minutes.

J-Weeze Trilogy

Yo its J-Weezy hitting you up with three completely different tracks that I've found on my journey through the space time music continuum. It's nothing revolutionary but I found them very enjoyable.

First up is a Trance/Techno song from an anime. Don't judge the fact that it's from an anime because it's actually pretty good and it doesn't really have any words in it.

Next up is an old school from the artist Styx

And last but not least a "Classic"

The First Time - Ludacris

A nice jam from the one and only Luda!

Monday, March 1

New Artist- Dan Black

Dj BoNeZ here with a new artist some of you might know him but for those of you who don't.. well...i bring you Dan Black,
