This tune was stuck in my head for a while the other day, so I decided to make it the Thursday Throwback for this week. From 96, the year Dolly the sheep was born, Bill Clinton was elected to a second term, and Pokémon Red and Blue were released in Japan, its "This Is Your Night" by Amber
Diggy Simmons fresh off of his 15th birthday/contract signing with Atlantic records has blessed us with another track called 'Come To Rock'. Now I could have sworn that I posted his First Flight Mixtape, and wanted to reference it and couldn't find it, then I remembered that Blogger removed it. Don't know why that always keeps happenning to me and me only, but it is what it is. Regardless, I fixed the link and it's back, but the search bar still won't let you find it. The original post is December 4th and you'll need to search the archives if this link don't work
Y'all also need to check out his blog, clothing line and shoe company.

This is an excellent documentary about "the current state of copyright and culture" by Andreas Johnsen, Ralf Christensen, and Henrik Moltke. It gets into the politics and history at play in the relatively recent trend of free and bootleg media sharing. The documentary crew interviewed a wide range of people who play a part in different sides of the the debate on music and movie piracy. They talk to the Motion Picture Association of America, the people at The Pirate Bay, Creative Commons, bootleg DVD salesmen in Moscow, Nollywood producers in Lagos, Techno Brega artists in Brazil, as well as a few American artists who are well known for their terrific acts of copyright infringement; Girl Talk, and DJ Danger Mouse. So if you got an hour to spare sometime and want to learn a little bit about all the politics and philosophies behind all this free shit we get, its definitely worth the watch.
Some mash up albums are good ideas that just don't seem to pan out. This project is not one of those. This here is a mix of classic Biggie verses with the music of British indie rock band The xx and it just works. Some tracks are better than others, but overall...FIRE!
I had to do it! I'm not always a big fan of Terius Youngdell Nash a.k.a The-Dream, but I gotta admit every song of his I hear is just some catchy ass music. SO, say it with me...L to the O, V to the E, K to the I, N to the G...
T-West made this track called "T-Dot State of Mind" months before BP3 dropped and any other Toronto artists used the same title for their own remixes of Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind." Out of the three I've heard that bear that popular title, this song is still my favorite.
Okay, if my boss finds me right now doin this I'm so fired. Remember that head to head I did of those Taio Cruz and Ke$ha tracks it turns out the worls helped decide for me. tckdp www.directlyrics.com from renzo torres on Vimeo.
