New Drake - Fed Up

A belated birthday to the one and only JohnWong! Here is a song that I stole from my boy, but thought it was in the best interest of everyone to share it! New Drake, DJ Khalid, Young Jeezy, and Rick Ross. I'm going to make like peanut butter, cause this is my jam.

R-Les Listening Party

Got this like a week ago, want your honest opinion on this album as a whole and if it's worth getting a physical copy. The last track is a track he produced for The Cool Kids at the beginning of the year that ended up on their Gone Fishing Mixtape that no one really heard.
It's not a download FYI.

And with a tip of my hat, I fade into the back...

My Fave Renaissance track

Yeah, some time last year, Q-Tip graced us with his presence in the form of an album.

The renaissance is a throwback to the styles that made him famous and has thought provoking elements, clever hooks and beats you can bob your head to while driving or (if your like me and my friends) riding a bus, making his album memorable to say the least. But(like Mos Def's recent release), just barely.

Anyway, he came out with a couple singles for the album that didn't get much play on TV (I really don't listen to the radio much anymore, so it might have played there) and makes his album an afterthought . So I was suprised to find he had released a video for his song with Norah Jones apparently like a month ago, Canadian media sux that way. Like the title indicates this happens to be my favourite track off that album and I like the graphics in this video, it reminiscent of the ones in 'Reading Rainbow'

SHOUT OUTS TO LEVAR BURTON!!!!

And with a tip of my hat, I fade into the back...

Wale and Friends Variety Hour

A few new Wale (and that's pronounced Wall-eh cuz I swear to God I heard someone pronounce it Whale a little while back) tracks that might get your attention. Have you noticed that pretty much every Wale track you hear has a featured artist? I swear he's got like a sideshow thing goin' on. He's on this circus like world tour that can't get enough buzz on it's own without having a special guest. No disrespect.
Anyway we've got tracks featuring what's left of UGK (R.I.P. Pimp C), frsh off a track about getting stoned; John Mayer, trying not to kill herself Rihanna, and everyone's favourite Yung Joc impersonator; Gucci Mane.
Alright I've made my peace with the situation.

And with a tip of my hat, I fade into the back...

This will just blow your mind!

Now for Jay-Z to be considered the best rapper alive, he sure has a lot of haters, and a shitload within his ranks like Julius Caesar. And if you paid attention in history class, you know how that turned out.

This latest 'bashing of the boss' record is from The ROCs very own Beanie Seigel titled "Average Cat". Yeah, that's right Beanie Seigel! pretty sure I heard a bunch of Holy shit gasps 'round the world. We got Beanz harboring some very hurt and intense emotions and feelings towards his boss man and closest friend that will have you questioning the 'Great One's' character.

And with a tip of my hat, I fade into the back...

Alcohlics just wanna have fun

I laughed when I first heard Jamie Foxx's Blame it. The shear idea that you can do some random and f!%*d up mess and blame it on getting plastered out of your mind and suddenly it's okay is as dumb as saying what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. You know that's just gonna come back and bite you in the ass. But that track is too nice to hate on for very long. Let's hope Timbaland and SoShy have as much luck as Jamie and T-Pain with this very long ode to future Al-Anon members.

Got my fingazz crossed.

At a Loss for Words

Okay...Is it wrong that I like this video. The style is definitely different, Dancing as usual is on point and I feel the addition of Swizz Beatz benefits this song.
Now the fact Chris Brown has had this assault case and acted like a Douche about things for the last 9 months makes you wanna hate on this song and video. Granted the song isn't that good in my opinion, but it has that mediocraty that seems to be successful in today's market. But in this media driven market Imagery is everything and this video is doin it.

So pre or post RiRi assault, rate this video however you see fit, just don't call me a wifebeater for liking him.

I CAN TRANSFORM YA FT. LIL' WAYNE & SWIZZ BEATZ

Straight out of Gadsden Alabama, I bring you- YELAWOLF!

Dj BoNeZ with a new artist--If your asking "who the fuck is Yelawof?" haha dont feel left out cuz not too many ppl in Canada know who he is. Reppin' Alabama, Yelawolf is a new sick rapper, expected to be the next big white rapper out of the south since Paul Wall haha his music is a cross between... u know what i don't know who to compare him haha just listen to the trak below and u decide haha.

I heard about him a year ago on this weird website with this track called- kickin' (you should check it out its GUCCI! haha). You might not know but he was also on that trak by Slim Thug called- I Run...he did the hook and now also has a new track with Julez Santana. I really think its only a matter time for this guy to blow up. Check him ouT! Peace

Shock Therapy

Now anyone that know me knows I'm a huge Timbaland fan and jump wave anytime he comes out with something. Hell, I bought a Chris Cornell album and he isn't really my thing I know he got rock fanatics goin crazy for years. (edit switch positions a wit sentence above it)

In light of the recent revalarion that the long awaited Shock Value Vol.II drops November 23, I pose this question to you
Do you think this album ail be a success and if so why?
I know I ail hear a bunch of Timbo's the greatest and he smashes on a regular basis. That shot ain't true. He's got plenty of tracks that sounded cool for about a week and enough (thanks to Magoo, let's face it that duo wasn't bankable and very few if amy listen to tracks of that era) tracks that ppl weren't feelin at all. I like Magoo, be seems like a nice guy. but it wasn't good

I for one feel some of the most successful tracks from the last one were some of the ones he actually features on, reminding that this is his track which makes glad to see him remaster tracks like Say Something f/Drake and Morning After Dark f/ SoShy& Nelly Furtado and I really hopes that he does the same with the abandoned track Ghetto Techno that was supposed to be on Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 with a verse or two from Mr.Mosely himslef. But hat's just me.
In a summer run and filled with tracks made by DJs all I know is Timbo better come with something Fierce and not in the fashionista or 'fabulous' sense. Or maybe that could be what it takes comment PLEASE!!!
We got a list of potential tracks courtesy of Wikipedia and my final question is this, who added and or removed.

Trini Things

So you guys may hate these but here are a couple things from back home my brother shared with me last night that I found either hilarious and/or would like to give kudos to haha.

The first is just a little shout out to a up and coming artist at home. Not really my style of music but I do applaud her for trying and she is improving as you will see the difference from the first video to the second. So as much as I laughed at the first video the second one she definitely either found a new director or her director seriously improved. Either way good job on getting me to actually stop and take it somewhat seriously.

Girl Talk- Bounce That

So looking at the Major Lazer & Nina Sky video the other day the rotoscope technique used reminded me of this little gem that someone showed me about a year ago. It is a fantastic display of a class project from Concordia University. Good music as well.

MY BADD!!!

The other day I noticed something, I hold back on songs, a lot of songs on a regular basis like that new Eminiem track or those Timbaland Sock Value 2 tracks found those before reading week. I apologize for that. I get too busy and I find on average 300 new songs a week (granted a lot tend to be albums) that's too many to go through and post on a regular basis, but I promise to do better.

I think it's because I hear so many new songs at once it's hard to compose a full opinion on them right away so I'm gonna set these tracks I found over the last 3 weeks( or longer in the case of a couple tracks) that I haven't posted yet in playlist formats.
We got tracks from: OneRepublic, Leona Lewis, Lil' Wayne (who I can't lie is killin some of these rock tracks), Wale, N*E*R*D*, Drake, Mr. Hudson, Lykke Li, Damian Marley, The Cool Kids, Ne-Yo, Robin Thicke, Trey Songz and many more.

Now the Trey Songz track I actually tracked down back in late August and thought I had posted it because I was absolutely positive that this was gonna be his next single, and then he came out with the Successful remix. Non the less, Imma hit you up with the remix and plenty more.
Sample them, play them everywhere or nowhere this is me making up for lost time.

Alright I've said my piece, now cut me up if you want, I really ain't scared.
And with a tip of my hat, I fade into the back...

Sony

So Sony has been doing some interesting things lately, one of which is this little advertisement which is quite a delight but can also be very annoying occasionally I think. But all in all lovely.

That person coming down the stairs hahaha

This one is for Eli and Wonger Bonger

This seems like something you guys would do in your spare time.

New Eminem and Drake

Hey guys, just some new Eminem and Drake(separate). The Eminem song is for his new video game DJ Hero(not relapse 2 as far as I'm concerned) and the second one is off of Timbaland's new album Shock Value 2.

Is Timbaland a Genius?

Dj BoNeZ back at it again-- this time with a new Timbo track and i'm in love with it. Timbo is set to release Shock Value 2 sometime towards the end of this year. So with that, comes my question for ya'll to answer. Is Timbaland a Genius? i believe he is-- a musical genius that is, if u disagree plz comment. Peace!

Made In Jamaica

So I am thinking that I’ll just post every Wednesday, as oppose to whenever I want just to give myself some order, with the exception of today.

My vision for my second post was something completely different from what I am posting now, I even did the write up and everything but I just think that this is more inspiring and my second post can become my third.

MADE IN JAMAICA is a film directed by Jerome Laperrousaz, I did not know who he was until I saw this film but from what I’ve read he is a really solid guy. This film attempts to show the everyday struggle of the Jamaican people, through the eyes of our biggest representatives in my opinion our music artist. The film deals with everything from corruption to killing. I first saw this film 3 or 4 years ago at TIFF, which I try to go to every year. As far as I know it never got very good reviews as some individuals (critics) felt it just skimmed the surface of the issues and did not go deep enough into what is truly wrong with Jamaica. I’ve never been one to agree with critics so I watched it for myself and was truly impressed, while it did not show the whole picture it left me wanting to find out more about my home country and what plagues it, and what is better than a film that makes one want to do research.

If you ever have the chance to watch it I truly recommend it, the film has some of the biggest names in the business, talking about politics, why they do what they do and what they feel is the hope for Jamaica. I even got to meet Capleton at the TIFF.
The sad part is other than the premier, I don’t think this video has seen circulation but I could be wrong.

p.s. I’ve spent years looking for a copy of this film never been able to find one, so if you know where I can leave a comment, I could download it but it is not the same.

You can check out the main website @ http://www.madeinjamaicamovie.com/index.html it has not been updated recently i check it periodically.

Performers in order by first appearance in trailer I know I got someone wrong, or I forgot someone. So don’t bite my head off, cause I just might respond.

Bogle (sadly this was his last dance he was gunned down when he stopped at a gas station on his way home), Bounty Killer & Nadine, Bunny Wailer, Bassie (Third World), Gregory Isaacs, Full Band (Third World), Capleton, Toots & the Maytals, Lady Saw, Tanya Stephens, Elephant Man

My next post is a two part post. The first part is the promised dance hall post.

ORB first Post

So I’m a big reggae fan, not so much dance hall but reggae has become my passion. Not just any reggae either, it has to be some conscious reggae. You know the kind of stuff that’s going to make you stop and say, “but wait a dat dem a deal wit”, you know the Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Queen Ifrica, and sometimes Buju listen to “Til I'm Laid to Rest”. I could go on and on but you get the picture. Now it has not always been this way, in truth when I came to Canada I won’t lie I hated reggae. I was like a lot of people I know, I would make fun or snicker when I heard some conscious reggae, but after seeing how much my little sister was invested in it. I decided there must be something to it and I started listening to it right away... I wish that was how it happened. It was more like I was upset that my sister who was not born in Jamaica, could listen to something that I felt was mine and love it. Even though I wanted nothing to do with it, I was still upset. So in the end it was more like a one sided competition; me trying to say I knew more about reggae then her, seeing if I could get the latest songs out of Jamaica before her. I can’t really say when it stopped being a competition and I started enjoying the music for itself, but I do know that it eventually became that. I was going to post Tanya Stephens “Do You” but I couldn’t find it on y0utub3, It is a really good song, listen to it if you get the chance. On a brighter note my back up song is a really good song too. My first post is going to be from Queen Ifrica, now no groans or complains just listen to the words and I think that her words are more universal it does not apply only to Jamaica everywhere you look people are dealing with the things stated in the song. It’s called “Keep it to yu self” off the Secrets Riddim, just in case someone is having difficulties I aim to please so translation “keep it to yourself.”
I downloaded some new music the other day I’m also thinking of posting some street dancing videos too some of them are really serious comments please.
O yea LAST THING if it is not on y0tub3 I am not posting it.

Scraper Bike

So a this is an updated version of a video that I saw last year. This thing is still ridiculously funny to me. I love when they are just riding in the traffic haha.

I would have posted this like 5 hours ago when I got it, but my computer froze and I had a long night so I decided to get some rest. Okay, I know I just posted something a minute or two ago, but this is a track I've been bumpin for months now, WAY before this blog was created. I found out that recently the track finally got a video.
This track is called "Tik Tok" by the artist Ke$ha and if it had been released video and all during the summer, guaranteed #1. Ke$ha is the female artist featured on Flo Rida "Right Round"
I intended to put this up weeks ago, but just keep forgetting, so forgive me if this post lacks relevance, but I just gotta.

so here is the official video, enjoy.

Also adding to the celebration of Brazil as the home of Olympics 2016.

And the music is wonderful as well.

Something Asian

Hey guys its J-Weezy aka Wonger Bonger aka Wonger Bomber back with something completely different from what has been posted so far. no it's not Penelope Cruz pregnant. I've decided to post a bit of Asian music this time round for you all to listen to. The first 2 songs are Japanese songs from 2 different animes. The first one is actually sung in English and the second one is all Japanese but both of them have very good melodies.

Enjoy!

this one isn't actually a song but it felt relevant...

It seems that when I post anything, it's in bunches. None the less here I go again.
This is a song I heard while fishing around for another collaborative track by a different artist (Sam Sparro), but we get to that another day.
Anyway This is Raindrops off the new album by Basement Jaxx. This single has been out since the beginning of Summer and since I found this song a day or two ago, I just can't get it out of my head.

Here's the Official Video, it comes off as 'trippy', but that's house music for ya.

Okay, Ookay,
So for those of you who don`t know, over at Founders we have an alumn who does it BIIIGG!
His name is Hodari, but being that it`s Canada and white ppl prolly couldn`t understand it, he went by Reuben. This is the dude that invented the Founders style and swag that keep us poppin and has Founders stayin fly to this day.

This highly intelligent young brotha also has an amazing way with words that has you pausing and thinking, wildn` out or just simply nodding your head. This is the first installment of his entitled MR. Eveything... enjoy.

Okay, my boy Hodari Reuben Clarke doin it up FINALLY!!!!!
FOUNDERS IS LEGIT WHAT???

Okay... Three Things that Might Make You Look At Me Funny

Alright, don't hate me for pluggin' Boy Bands right now cuz, I was one of those ppl who was glad to see them die. Let's face it it was really getting irritating.

ANY-WHOOO... This right here is a tri-fecta of 'Boy Band-ness'. First we got this new and relatively unknown band (but won't be for long thanks to Britney Spears' Circus tour) named, One Call. Granted, they may be a bunch of white pretty boyz from Cali, and seem corny and once you hear there origin story you might wanna gag. But the urban swag is very present., that reminds me of B2K and that T.U.G. sound from back in the day and also of what Colby O'Donis is sorta doin right now.
Honestly, this is a track I've been sitting on and secretly listening to for about a month now and I gotta be honest, I like it more and more each time, it's called "Turn It Up" and I hope you agree wit me on dis one.

http://www.myspace.com/onecall

Now, speaking of B2K, the only successful (and let's face it talented one) Omarion hittin' us wit a new track feat. Gucci Mane that has some down South swag that I'm feeling. This is "Get it In", to me it aint crazyy good, but it`s alright.

And finally, The Backstreet Boys. This might be the only track I like off there new album and I kinda hate myself for it. Anyway here's "Helpless ft. Pitbull"

Alright, I've said my piece. You can cut me up if you want to, I don't really care.
And with the tip of my hat, I fade into the back...

C Breezy is back again

DJ BoNeZ here with a new Chris Brown track, aka C Breezy for those who don't know his nickname. Kinda like lil weezy is lil wayne and so on. Whether u like him or not for what he did to Ri-Ri (also known as Rihanna), he still knows how to make good music, he'll deft'ly have to transform all those haters of out there if he wants his upcoming album to sell. Enjoy maybe this track "can transform ya!"

"Swiss on the Beat, Chris move ya feet and we can transform a good girl to a freak!"haha sik line
